Luxury Rooftop Hotel & Restaurant Design with Sunbath Lounge | Naqshawala Rooftop Concept
This rooftop hotel project was envisioned as a complete lifestyle destination in the sky — not just a terrace, but a fully functional luxury rooftop experience where hospitality, dining, relaxation, and nature blend together in one iconic architectural statement. Designed and visualized by Naqshawala, this rooftop concept transforms a multi-storey building’s unused top level into a vibrant, green, and highly profitable rooftop hotel and restaurant environment, similar in spirit to famous destinations like Manal Rooftop but with a much more modern and immersive architectural approach. Because multi-storey buildings often lack access to direct sunlight, fresh air, and open spaces, the rooftop was carefully planned to become the main breathing zone of the entire building. The layout is divided into multiple functional zones, including a hotel lounge area, a rooftop restaurant branded as Move & Pick, an open kitchen zone, a movie-viewing and entertainment area, and a dedicated sunbath and relaxation deck. Each section is connected seamlessly so guests can move freely from dining to lounging, watching a movie, or simply relaxing in the sun. The Move & Pick rooftop restaurant is one of the main highlights of the project. It is designed as an open-air dining and casual restaurant where guests can enjoy food while surrounded by greenery and skyline views. The kitchen is fully integrated into the rooftop layout, allowing live cooking, barbecue, and service efficiency. The placement of the kitchen and counters is designed in a way that it remains visually clean, modern, and hygienic while still feeling like a part of the outdoor experience rather than a closed box. One of the most important features of this rooftop hotel design is the sunbath lounge area. Since apartments and hotel rooms in tall buildings rarely receive enough natural sunlight, we created a dedicated zone with large, comfortable reclining chairs where people can lie down, relax, and enjoy direct sunlight in the morning or afternoon. This transforms the rooftop into a wellness zone, making it ideal for hotel guests, long-term residents, and visitors who want to relax, tan, read, or simply enjoy the sky above them. It adds strong lifestyle value to the property and makes the rooftop a daily-use space instead of only a night-time restaurant. The greenery and landscaping are a core part of this design. We used multiple large and small planters, layered vegetation, and lush planting zones to turn the rooftop into a garden in the sky. The heavy use of plants makes the space cooler, more comfortable, and visually calming. Greenery also improves air quality, reduces heat, and creates a natural contrast with the modern architecture. This balance between nature and architecture gives the rooftop a premium resort-style feel rather than just a concrete terrace. The seating and lounge areas are designed in a modular and flexible way. From L-shaped sofas to dining chairs and sun loungers, every seating type serves a specific purpose — casual hangouts, dining, social gatherings, movie nights, or quiet relaxation. This allows the rooftop to host multiple activities at the same time without feeling crowded or confusing. Whether guests want to eat, talk, watch a movie, enjoy the view, or lie down in the sun, every experience has its own dedicated space. Lighting is another key element in this rooftop hotel concept. During the evening, soft warm lights, planter uplighting, railing lights, and ambient illumination transform the entire terrace into a luxury nighttime destination. This makes the rooftop perfect for romantic dinners, social events, movie screenings, and hotel guest relaxation after sunset. The lighting is designed to enhance safety, beauty, and comfort without creating glare or visual clutter. From a commercial point of view, this rooftop project significantly increases the value of the building. A rooftop hotel, restaurant, and leisure deck attract more guests, increase footfall, and provide multiple revenue streams — dining, events, movie nights, private bookings, and wellness experiences. From an architectural perspective, it also improves the identity of the building, making it more iconic, memorable, and marketable. This project perfectly represents Naqshawala’s approach to architecture: turning ordinary spaces into extraordinary experiences. Instead of leaving the rooftop empty or underused, we transformed it into a green, functional, luxurious destination that serves hotel guests, visitors, and residents alike. The combination of sunbath areas, restaurant zones, greenery, open sky, and modern design creates a rooftop that feels like a private resort above the city. This rooftop hotel and restaurant design is not just about beauty — it is about comfort, lifestyle, wellness, and smart architectural planning. It proves that even in dense urban environments, people can still enjoy sunlight, greenery, relaxation, and premium hospitality when the design is done with vision and purpose.
