The client hired Naqshawala / Nakshay / Naqsha Design Studio to completely redesign the interior spaces, solve seepage problems, and create a modern, functional home. 🧱 The Challenge: Severe Seepage and No DPC When our team first visited the site, we found a major problem — no DPC (Damp Proof Course) had been provided during the house construction. Because of this, there was seepage up to six feet in the walls of the rooms, especially in the drawing room. This made it impossible to use normal wall paint or wallpaper. The client asked Naqshaywala to solve the problem without rebuilding the house. 🎨 The Design Scope The interior design included: Kitchen interior design TV lounge interior Bedroom design Drawing room (main problem area) Garage and lobby area Each space was designed carefully by Naksha Design Studio to combine beauty with practicality. 🪨 The Solution: Travertine, Tiles & PVC To control the seepage, our engineers and designers at Naqshawala decided to use travertine tiles and stone finishes instead of paint in affected areas. Especially in the drawing room, we covered the lower six feet of the walls with travertine cladding, giving it both a premium look and long-term protection. In other rooms, where seepage was light, we used PVC wall panels to avoid future damage. PVC is easy to clean, waterproof, and more durable than regular paint — a smart choice for houses without DPC. 🌬️ Proper Ventilation for Fresh Interiors Another key issue was the smell of moisture. To solve this, our Naqshawala engineering team improved the ventilation layout throughout the house — especially in the kitchen, TV lounge, and bedrooms. This helped maintain fresh air flow and prevent the return of dampness. ✨ The Final Look After the renovation, the 5 Marla house in Gakhar looked brand new. The drawing room travertine design added warmth and texture. The kitchen design looked elegant and modern with light tones and functional layout.
